Structural works begin on the New Melton Hospital

The new Melton Hospital has reached a major construction milestonewith structural works underway.

The basement level concrete slab pours are almost finished, andthe first suspended floor slabs are getting underway for ground and level one.

Five out of six tower cranes are now in place. These towercranes will help build the hospital’s new structure.

Since major construction began in July 2025, there has been:

  • 84,000 cubic metres of  materials excavated with bulk excavation now finished
  • 26,500 square metres of concrete poured
  • 1200+ workers inducted to the site
  • 274,000 hours worked on-site.

Construction is on track for completion in 2029.

The project is being delivered by the VictorianHealth Building Authority in partnership with Western Health and ExemplarHealth, the consortium that includes Capella Capital, Lendlease, Honeywell,Compass Group and Invesis
