Joshua Baker

Associate Director

As an Associate Director within the Origination team at Capella Capital, Joshua has worked on a variety of projects across the transport, energy, renewables, education, health, government, marine and utilities industries. His project experience covers all phases, including EOI, bid, closing, delivery and operations.

Joshua brings a unique perspective to infrastructure development having worked both in the engineering and project finance sectors. Joshua readily picks up new concepts and applies them to new situations in innovative ways. This has allowed Joshua to gain experience in multiple fields including financial structuring, debt and equity negotiations, commercials, technical due diligence, financial modelling, community and stakeholder engagement, SPV establishment and asset management.

More recently, Joshua has worked on structuring and negotiating financing packages for the infrastructure sector’s largest and most complex projects including:

• Central West Orana Renewable Energy Zone – Finance lead for ACE REZ consortium
• Award winning and largest ever Australian PPP, the $11.1 billion North East Link Primary Package – Finance team for Spark consortium

Joshua has been working in the infrastructure sector for over 19 years. Prior to joining Capella Capital, Joshua worked at Lendlease Engineering and Abigroup Contractors where he focused on project management and delivery of large-scale civil infrastructure.

Joshua’s focus on optimal project development, stakeholder/relationship management, and his varied experience allows him to provide well-considered and efficient solutions to various problems.
